February Full Moon.
The Full Moon rises on 16 February on the heels of Valentine’s Day. This lunation is putting us in touch with our passions and bringing us a chance to let go of anything standing in the way of our confidence. February’s full moon is sometimes known as the Snow Moon. This moniker comes from the fact that February often brings more snowfall than any other month of the year in Northern Hemisphere. It could be one of the most important full moons of 2022.
Astrologically, full moons are known for bringing emotions, energy, and tensions to a boiling point — which is why we might notice more drama happening in our lives during these periods. However, the energy of the full moon can also be harnessed to help us let go of things, bring matters to a conclusion, or give our projects a boost. Full moons are typically a time where energy is drawn out of us. Full moons are points of release, however with Venus and Mars together in the sky, we can also draw energy to us, especially energy that allows us to feel empowered, sexual, passionate, creative, and in full ownership of our bodies.
As the January full moon 2022, or as you might know it the Wolf Moon, brought a heavy dose of closure it looks like this month's full moon, or Snow Moon, is bringing us forward. Coming off a steamy Valentine’s Day weekend, the full moon is asking us to celebrate who we are, who and what we love, and why. Taking place in fire sign Leo, this lunar moment is illuminating the themes of passion, creativity, and confidence. We’ll find that we’re feeling hungry for love, pumped up by enthusiasm, and ready to fully embrace the colourful spectrum of our authenticity. This is the time to stoke our inner fires and keep the flame of our passions burning.
There’s nothing Leo loves more than self-expression, so celebrate this full moon by getting on stage and making a colorful mess. The experience will reconnect you with your inner child, so let the most youthful part of your personality show you how to create without inhibition. Let this full moon show you what truly inspires you. Have you been too "fixed" about your plans lately? Invite more creativity into your process. Stability and security are nice to have, but you can pay too high of a price if you compromise on things like passion, creativity, and romance. Leo is the zodiac's hero, always willing to take a chance or speak up when nobody else dares. Summon your courage, even if that means acting in the face of your fear because you know it's the right thing to do.
Love planets Venus and Mars connect for a rare, exact meetup on February 16. In the sign of long-term goals and public prestige, any deals you seal under the 2022 full moon could go the distance, bringing lasting passion and fame. Keep your heart and mind open! Taking a chance on someone who is not your usual type could turn out to be one of the most exciting decisions you've made in a long time. If you are looking to manifest a romantic relationship, more aligned connections in your life, or the perfect teacher or mentor, this energy is particularly favorable. If you are looking to connect deeper with your body, your sexuality, or your feelings of passion for your partner or for life in general, this full moon will be on your side.
Shifting your attention inward, you can also use the energy of the full moon to do some self-reflection and fast-track personal growth. Take an inventory of the places in your life where you could step up to a higher level of responsibility. Perhaps go a stride further and imagine how you can use your influence to create a greater connection to the world around you.
Deepen the self-inquiry with a short meditation and journalling
Take a comfortable seat with a straight spine. Close your eyes
Take a few deep inhales and exhale with a sigh everything that’s lingering around in your body - emotions - mind.
Start by feeling the body head to toe and connect to your breath — just observe it, no need to fix it; no need to fix anything.
Start contemplating about what your true passion is and what is your creative expression. Take a journey down the memory lane: think what you enjoyed doing since you were a small kid, through primary and secondary school, high school, college and university. What were your passions and interests? What ignited your creativity?
Think also what things brought you down — what took a tool on your confidence, made you feel small? Was there a sentence from a teacher? Parent? Yourself? Keep exploring. How are these struggles expressed in you right now — in your body, heart and mind?
Once you’ve obtained insight, connect back to your breath, ground yourself in your body.
Slowly open your eyes and from this place of sight, grab a pen and start journalling.
Try making a list of everything that ignited the fire in you, what did you enjoy doing through your life and what sparked your creativity? This is your soul fuel. How can you incorporate more of that to your daily life, what stands in your way?
Next write down what is that needs to be different in order for you to be happy, and truly express your creativity and live your passion? How do the limitations or unease impact your daily life? Try making a list of everything that made/makes you feel small, self-conscious, or doubtful of yourself. What takes away your playfulness and silents the inner child.
Now you have more clarity on what you don’t want in your life. When you’re done, read through what you wrote — with no judging. The full moon’s energy is calling you to liberate yourself from this unease and conditioning.
Get inspired by this celestial energy. Bask in its boldness. Be authentic. Be vulnerable. Speak your inner wisdom. Share your point of view. Assert yourself. And always, practice compassion towards others—and most of all, for yourself.
